and the boys' big day

Apparently all my kids think they need to grow up super fast lately!  We already talked about the princess' big day last time, but the boys each had their own "big" day yesterday.

First, it started with Evan.  Somehow we have fast forward through the last 5 years and now Evan is going to be a big Kindergartner in a few short months!  Yesterday we official signed him up for kindergarten at roundup.  Pretty soon it won't be Avery's school anymore, but the boys' school.  Evan is very excited about this!

Then Avery came home with his everyday guided reading bag for homework, but this time he had an actual real-deal chapter book in it!  I fully know that first graders read at all different levels so no comparing with his peers, just a celebration of Avery!  Reading has never been easy for him.  I am so proud of him for making these big gains!  He has really worked hard to get to this level!  I just love that we have a big boy chapter book reader in the house!  Great job buddy!!!

I love these kiddos!

Yay on chapter books! I remember Blake getting there as it has been along hard road with reading. His teacher this year let him pick books out that interest him hunting, farming, trucks etc. really helped him.

Yes boys love their nonfiction books! Avery could read books about animals all day long...I get a little tired of listening to it however ;).
