#48 & #49 we love bribery!

Apparently, I am getting bad at this posting everyday kind of thing ;)...

I know you have all been waiting on the edge of your seats to hear if Evan slept in his own bed all night...well he did sleep in his own room all night!  At some point he crawled up into Avery's bed to sleep with him, but I really don't care as long as he stays in HIS room and out of MY room!!!  He has since slept in there two nights in a row all night long {yes, with Avery} and we are working on our third night.  Ellie attempted to go to sleep in there too with the boys tonight {again I don't care where they sleep as long as I don't have to lay down with them to go to bed or that they don't end up in our room during the night}....however, that was a fail after an hour and about 10 "trips to the potty" for her...  

These new goals are working out great....especially for the boys!  Evan has mastered writing his name legibly and we are down to only needing to recognize 4 letters and {like I already said} he is doing well, so far, with this sleep thing.  Avery has started reading to me everyday {without arguing about it}, the shoe tying finally seems to be coming along, and he practiced riding his bike tonight and made it up and down the cul-de-sac by himself {we are still working on the starting/stopping thing}.  I should have bribed them a lot sooner ;).  We now have to work on keeping this momentum up!

Okay so what else has been going on?

On day #48 we had Thinking Tuesday with friends at storytime and then playtime at the park before the heat wave and the 100 degree temperatures set in.  {I am so grateful that this was our first extremely hot day so far this summer....last summer we had nothing but those days!}

Then this is what goes on when we spend the afternoon inside to beat the heat.

Then on day #49 we had Wet & Wild Wednesday with water balloons!

We finally made it to the pool again!  Avery & Evan are both getting so good at swimming under the water!!  Ellie loves to float around in her life jacket in the "big" pool where she can't touch!

The kiddos also picked up their first set of free books from the library today for filling out their summer reading log.  Each of the books they chose themselves pretty well matches them each perfectly and the things they like the most right now.
