We are back from our vacation to Michigan! We had a great time and had lots of fun! Michigan is a beautiful state and we loved playing in Lake Huron and Lake Michigan! There is so much to write about so I am going to break apart our trip over several posts.
Last Friday around 4 pm we headed out on our way to Rogers City, Michigan, where Ryan's grandma lives. We first stopped to pick up Tamarin, Ryan's sister, in Gladstone before driving through the night on our 15 hour trip.
Driving through the night is actually so much better when there's little one's :)...we did this too several years ago on our trip to Florida...but this was Ellie's first long distance trip. They all did really well! {Here's a tip: keep a potty seat in the car if you have a potty training kiddo...helps so much!}
Shortly after waking up we have arrived at our destination! The weather was beautiful with fall like temperatures the whole time and NO humidity!! And look at that sky...gorgeous! We took a walk around Grandma Taylor's {or G.G.'s...great grandma} land.
Then we headed off to the Nautical Festival in town and got our first look at Lake Huron.
A little windy :).
Nap time while the boys watched a lumberjack show.
What a 3 twirl slide?!
Swinging with G.G.
Looking at large limestone pits in town.
Checking out the hunting lodge and ringing the bell.
Taking a drive before bed to look for deer...we saw a ton.
Stayed tune for more of our trip...
