day 11 of summer

Day 11:  Tuesday, June 3

Today was our second Thinking Tuesday of the year!  We started the morning by reading What Presidents are Made Of picture book by Hanoch Piven.  The book takes a funny twist on some of the past presidents.  What is unique about this book is that the illustrations of the president's faces were created out of various random recycled items.  So that's what my kiddos created for their craft...illustrations of something using recycled items.  I collect "junk" in a bag that I think can be used for craft projects...it came in very handy for this project.

Then the creations just kept coming and things got a little crazy...

We then went to our first storytime in the park for this summer.  It is nice to keep up with this tradition for the past several years!

It has been way hot and humid out already so picnics outside aren't really happening right now, but a picnic inside was nice!

Then it was book club time with lots of our friends!  We are 1/3 the way through The BFG.  The kiddos seem to love it!  We made dream blowers, BFG style ears, and ate yucky snozzcumber and drank yummy frobscottle :)!

Lots of reading happening today...love it!!!
